Position Opportunity: Doctor Assistant Professor at University of São

The Dean of the Museum of Contemporary Art, University of São Paulo (USP),
Brazil, announces the opening of a full-time faculty position (RDIDP, position no
1263544), at the Museum of Contemporary Art, in the area of “Curatorial
Processes”. Starting salary is R$ 15,498.97 (May 2024). Candidates should hold
a Ph.D. diploma. Applications will be opened for 90 (ninety) days — from May
21st, 2025, 8:00 a.m. (Brasilia time), until August 18, 2025, 5:00 p.m. (Brasilia
time). The topics covered in the selection process are:
1. Artmedia, native digital art, and new technologies: challenges for
contemporary art museums;
2. Digital curatorship and database curatorship;
3. Information systems in art museums;
4. Technical and material history of art;
5. History of artmedia in MAC USP ´s collection;
6. Challenges for preservation and research in artmedia in Brazil;
7. Collection policies and digital heritage in university art museums;
8. Archaeologies and ecologies of media;
9. Artificial intelligence and artistic creation;
10.Audience mediation and technology;
11.Decolonial issues in art and new technologies.
The public competition for the position is subject to Brazilian constitutional principles, notably that of impersonality, as well as by the provisions of the Statute and General Regulations of the University of São Paulo and the Internal Regulations of MAC USP.
