MAC USP opens the exhibition Classicism, Realism, Avant Garde: Italian Painting Between the Wars , which features 81 works from the Museum's collection, 71 Italian paintings acquired between 1946 and 1947, by Francisco Matarazzo Sobrinho, “Ciccillo”, and his wife Yolanda Penteado, for the creation of former São Paulo Museum of Modern Art (MAM). The exhibition also features ten works by Brazilian artists whose practices revealed their connection with the interwar Italian artistic milieu. One of the most important collections of modern Italian art outside Italy , this collection of MAC USP is a thorough panorama of Italian Art of the first half of the 20 th century.
