Territórios
The display Territórios (Territories) counts on the participation of researchers, curators and other invited people who accepted the challenge of reflecting about the production of artists from many parts of the country, without being attached to regional boundaries. In "Territories", there are artists who intend to transpass the geographic limits through their metaphores. They reflect a poetic world in fragments of daily life, of land, of hope or of dreams. They motivate the participation of the aesthetic experience by immersion, reaffirming life as a free territory.

Coleção Theon Spanudis
The Collection Theon Spanidus displays some of the most significant works of the collection that Spanidus donated to USP in 1979, nowadays preserved by the Museum of Contemporary Art. The selected works reveal a very personal reading of the collector in relation to the brazilian contemporary art, in which the formal discoveries of the concrete art are constantly related to handcraft and the popular imaginary. The collection is divided in concrete art and art naive, including some works closer to surrealist thematics. Works by Alfredo Volpi, Mira Schendel and Luiz Sacilotto, and also Valentim, José Antonio da Silva e Arnaldo Ferrari, among other artists, constitute the exhibition. There will also be exhibited some pictures of his childhood toys, with some of his books of poetry and of art criticism. Psychoanalyst, poet and art critic, the Greek Theon Spanudis (1915-1986) moved to Brazil in 1950. Soon, he became a militant critic, defender of the new brazilian art and a careful collector of works by many artists who were also his close friends. The exhibition is a combined initiative of the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Centro Universitário Maria Antonia, and has as curators Lorenzo Mammi, Maria Izabel Branco Ribeiro and Helouise Costa. At the same period, in Maria Antonia, the artists Giorgia Volpe, Flávia Bertinato and Iara Freiberg exhibit their works.
