Contemporary Contaminations presents artworks created by 12 Chilean artists concerning the transformation of urban space in contemporaneity. By using a varied range of artistic languages, such as photography, video, sculpture and site-specific propositions, Alejandra Prieto, Ales Villegas, Catalina Bauer, Cristóbal Lehyt, Felipe Mujica, Francisca Benítez, Johanna Unzueta, Julen Birke, Marcela Moraga, Nicolás Rupcich, Rodrigo Canala and Tomás Rivas have worked based on the theme of pollution in big cities.

The organization of the exhibition was carried out by Die Ecke space. Founded in 2002, Die Ecke is an independent space for exhibitions and diffusion of contemporary art in Chile that focuses on its most recent production.

By hosting this exhibition, MAC-USP offers the Brazilian visitors the opportunity to be in contact with Chilean contemporary production, and promotes the dialogue among South American countries.

MAC-USP thanks the support given to the project by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile.
